Rove Hotels and World Art Dubai plug into the metaverse to celebrate emerging artists

  • For the fifth year, Rove Hotels will host its Emerging Artists competition for digital creators, photographers, and artists
  • Shortlisted artists can sell their pieces via an NFT auction held during World Art Dubai
  • Rove will also hold futuristic art exhibitions in the metaverse to commemorate the top artworks from the previous four editions

In its mission to bring original art to the Middle Eastern World Art Dubai (WAD) is once again partnering with Rove Hotels.

Together with the homegrown hospitality brand, WAD 2023 will take the opportunity to shine the spotlight on local talent with the fifth edition of its hugely popular Emerging Artists competition, when it returns to Dubai World Trade Centre from 9th to 12th March, 2023

Open to artists from across the globe, the prize is about unearthing new digital creators, photographers, and artists, offering them an amazing platform to showcase their work and grow their professional art careers. Rewards include a complimentary booth to showcase and sell their pieces at World Art Dubai 2024 and a three-month exhibition space at one of Rove Hotels’ popular properties in Dubai.

Additionally, Rove has launched a futuristic Metaverse Art Gallery showcasing the best art pieces received since the launch of the Emerging Artist Prize in 2019. The gallery will be easily accessible via smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Additionally, dedicated Virtual Reality booths have been installed at several Rove Hotels’ locations in Dubai so that Rovers (guests) can immerse themselves fully in this unique experience.

Chief Operating Officer for Rove Hotels, Paul Bridger, said that continuing to support the local UAE art scene for the fifth-year running was a privilege and resonated with the Rove Hotels philosophy.

"Since its inception, the Rove Hotels brand has been linked to the local art scene. All our hotels show their connection with the neighbourhood they are in through art pieces created by talented, locally-based artists," Bridger added.

"During our five-year partnership with World Art Dubai, we’ve received thousands of entries and helped create a new community of aspiring artists.

"We are incredibly proud to have been able to provide them with a platform to showcase their talent and continue growing," he concluded.
