The Leaders - Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
The Leaders polyptych artwork presents three portraits of the United Arab Emirates leaders: Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was the ruler of Abu Dhabi for more than 30 years, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whois the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and the current president of the UAE Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Leaders polyptych is an artwork in progress and plans to be extended and enriched with portraits of other significant Sheikhs.

Each artwork refers to a particular historical and philosophical context of the territory connected with the depicted leader. First portrait depicts the Father of the Nation — Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is one of the former of the UAE. He assisted actively in oil exploration which led to the UAE economic miracle: development of the oil industry, improving living standards caused by it, influx of foreign labor, reputational growth in the international arena, etc. The portrait of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was presented in 2018 in Abu-Dhabi during Formula1 race as a mural.
Portrait of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has several symbols in it which show interests of the president such as camels races, or political gestures such as the eagle as the symbol of Libyan army under Muammar Gaddafi, which refers to the UAE support of the Libyan civilians by military intervention in Libya.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum`s portrait is gathered from the separate elements related to the period of his reign, such as: active development of the Dubai, philanthropy, tourism growth, etc.
The paintings were created in an optical illusion technique called «double» images. This technique is a characteristic feature of FATUM`s art consistently used by the artist in an aim to encrypt an ambiguous layered message into the artwork.
