World Art Dubai Celebrates Emerging Artists
World Art Dubai and Rove Hotels are offering budding artists the chance to showcase their original art pieces under the theme – ‘My Culture. My Community. My Neighbourhood.’ – as part of the Emerging Artists Exhibition at World Art Dubai 2019 and across all Rove Hotels.
Emerging artists aged 18 years and above, currently residing in GCC countries, are invited to submit digital versions of their original paintings, digital artworks or illustrations, of maximum size A0, here. The top 20 pieces will be shortlisted to be exhibited across all Rove Hotels, starting at Rove Trade Centre, and public voting will also begin.
Ten artworks will be invited to move forward in the competition to be displayed at the Rove Café at World Art Dubai from 3 - 6 April at Dubai World Trade Centre, giving all artists the invaluable opportunity to showcase their masterpieces to corporate and individual collectors. The Emerging Artists Exhibition will be judged and curated by Master of Visual Communication Petra Kaltenbach and Emaar’s Hospitality Design Director, Tomas Contreras. Winners will be declared at the event in two categories: The People’s Choice Award and The Grand Winner. The Grand Winner will be given a space to exhibit and sell his/her works at World Art Dubai 2020.
“As the region’s largest affordable retail art fair, the World Art Dubai mission has always been to unite the art community and bring together art creators and buyers of all levels,” said Andrew Wingrove, Show Director at Dubai World Trade Center, organizer of World Art Dubai. “As such, World Art Dubai is committed to providing emerging artists with a high-profile retail platform to display and sell their work. In this vein, partnering with Rove Hotels, a hospitality brand renowned for providing its guests with culturally-inspired surroundings, is a natural evolution for the fair and we look forward to leveraging this strategic alliance to increase the level of affordable, UAE-made art on view at this year’s fair.”
Speaking about Rove’s collaboration with World Art Dubai, Paul Bridger, Corporate Director of Operations at Rove Hotels, commented, “Rove Hotels epitomise a real sense of community and the true essence of a neighbourhood. Our brand centres on a neighbourhood concept that blends a diverse variety of artistic and cultural influences. Everyone at Rove is very excited to be partnering with World Art Dubai to reward creativity and provide local emerging artists with the opportunity to exhibit their immense talents to such a large audience of art enthusiasts.”
