Celebrating UAE's Talented Young Artists.
The Middle East’s largest affordable retail art fair, World Art Dubai, has launched an interschool competition where aspiring young artists can have their winning artwork take pride of place at this year’s show.
Rolling out across a quintet of Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s leading schools, the interschool competition encourages students to express their artistic flair under the theme of sustainability. Each school will select its individual winner and runner-up for a final round of judging at World Art Dubai.
Students from GEMS Modern Academy have set the early running by already displaying some completed work to a World Art Dubai committee, while other participating schools include Nord Anglia International School Dubai, Repton School Dubai, Repton School Abu Dhabi and Foremarke School.
In the run-up to the final judging at World Art Dubai to crown the winners in each school grade, the show has partnered with Rove Hotels to host a workshop led by renowned sustainability advocate and artist, Mariska Nell.
Known for creating bespoke art pieces through recycling and upcycling, the South-African artist will assist runners-up and winners from each school in creating group artwork from discarded items.
