Animals walk their own trajectory through time detached from mankind. Living away from their wilderness, we forget the innocence of their existence. It is unfortunate that through our actions, they have suffered harms that reveal humans as the cruelest predators. Birds now flee as we chip away at their savanna, coral reefs decay as pollution conquers and the home of polar bears disappears into liquid sea. We must realise that they are not a fabrication for our use, they are conscious beings that experience joy, fear and pain. Before God, it will be our treatment of animals that speaks on the purity and kindness of our hearts.
