THE VOICES WITHIN - This series has been an exploration of the self and the personification of the ‘inner voices’ in the form of varied conversations - entitled ‘The Voices Within’ - focusing specifically on the emotions experienced by individuals during the recent global pandemic and resulting lockdowns; namely – ‘Contradiction’, ‘Serenity’ and ‘Rage’. Each painting allows the viewer to connect to a specific emotion that felt relevant to them; initiating a dialogue with the relevant painting as well as their inner self. It can be a conflicting dialogue with oneself or even a serene monologue | RAGE - An interpretation of a dialogue full of anger or even rage! The juxtaposition of red and black suggests the internal conflict and struggle, in response to the pandemic and its challenges in the world outside.
