From oil to gold, a journey through the ages of matter
In the depths of the Earth, oil lies dormant. Extracted, refined, it becomes fuel. Oil is the raw energy, the modern life that flows through our veins.
Gold is born when stars explode, until it is deposed on our planet.
Gold shines, it fascinates, it symbolizes wealth and beauty.
Oil and gold, two extremes of matter. One supports our modern world, the other illuminates our wildest dreams. Each element, each atom, tells a stiry of fusion, of transformation, of journey through the cosmos.
So, every time you see a drop of oil or a flash of gold, remember matter is much more than just a substance. It is the common thread of our existence, the link between the past and the future, between the Earth and the stars, it is the canvas on which our dreams come to life.
In this work, by combining the colours of gold with a less noble material (composed of tar and minerals), the artiste offers an « object charged with spiritual vibrations » while making a metaphor for the myth of lead changed into gold.
