For “Magic Colors” series I use printing ink as a painting medium. The ink is applied to a specially prepared surface in several steps. The deliberate flow of just three primary colors creates mystical, sometimes psychedelic-seeming, flowing transitions. The color gradients are highlighted by counterpoints of black tar or a specially produced tar foam. The tar foam forms cell-like structures inspired by biological systems. For me, the bright colors are a synonym for the fascination and beauty of biological systems.
