World Art Dubai artist Dante Enage to Represent the Philippines at 10th Beijing International Art Biennale
MANILA — Filipino contemporary artist Dante Enage has been officially selected to participate in the prestigious 10th Beijing International Art Biennale (BIAB 2025). Following a rigorous three-jury review process, Enage joins an elite group of global artists to showcase their work at the Beijing Exhibition Center from December 29, 2025 to January 26, 2026.
A vision of ‘Coexistence’
The theme for this year’s Biennale, “Coexistence,” explores the vital interdependence between humanity, nature, and society. Enage will present his large-scale acrylic on canvas masterpiece, “Patterned Paradise 1” (133×265 cm).
The work is a rich tapestry of geometric motifs and organic forms, weaving together:
Pintados Tattoo Patterns: Traditional motifs hailing from his Visayan roots.
Baybayin Script: Ancient Philippine calligraphy integrated with modern aesthetics.
Environmental Themes: A reflection on the delicate balance between natural flora and abstract structures.
“In Patterned Paradise, I create a dreamlike sanctuary,” Enage said. “It is a celebration of beauty in detail, where birds and cultural echoes coexist to evoke both serenity and wonder.”
From Tacloban to the global stage
Originally from Tacloban City in Leyte, Enage’s selection for the Beijing Biennale marks a significant milestone in his post-pandemic journey. Since migrating to Manila in search of a wider audience and greater challenges, his career has seen a rapid international ascent.

His recent accolades include his 16th Solo Exhibition at Art Camp Gallery, Makati (December 2025), and participation in World Art Dubai (April 2025), alongside previous exhibitions in Malaysia, Indonesia, France, and Italy.
Upholding a legacy of Filipino excellence
The Beijing International Art Biennale is recognized as one of the world’s largest and most prestigious art events. By representing the Philippines this year, Enage joins a distinguished lineage of Filipino artists who have exhibited at BIAB, including:
Dennis Montera (5th BIAB, 2013)
Maximino Balatbat II (6th BIAB, 2015)
Cristina Taniguchi (7th BIAB, 2017)
Samuel Penaso and Bong Perez (8th BIAB, 2019)
Enage continues this tradition of excellence, bringing Filipino heritage and contemporary craftsmanship to the forefront of the international art scene. (PR)
